Title: Lead Product Designer

Department: Baseball Operations - Product Development

Status: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $160,000 - $185,000/year*

Reports to: Director, Baseball Product Development

• Compensation rates vary based on job-related factors, including experience, job skills, education, and training.

The Baseball Research and Development team of the Los Angeles Dodgers is dedicated to building software applications and platforms that support analysis, scouting, player evaluation, and player development.

As a Lead Product Designer, you will work closely with the team’s developers and analysts to implement user-centered design processes that deliver actionable insights and designs supporting the decision support systems, evaluation tools, and data pipelines used throughout Baseball Operations.

This position offers the unique opportunity to leverage design to increase the impact of baseball analytics, where the results of your work are visible on and off the field.

As a Lead Product Designer, You Will

• Assess the usability of internal products; recommend and implement improvement plans.
• Collaborate with the product team to develop, implement, and socialize user research, design, and testing processes.
• Advocate for a user-centered strategy in product prioritization and development.
• Facilitate cross-functional design workshops for new features and improvements.
• Communicate design rationale and user research outcomes to stakeholders.
• Implement a user engagement strategy to collect user feedback and communicate product improvements.
• Develop and maintain a system for capturing and storing use cases and user research insights.
• Leverage user research to inform product growth strategy and opportunities.
• Design all artifacts associated with delivering low and high-fidelity prototypes to drive alignment and increase effectiveness of development efforts.
• Develop and maintain a design system of reusable components.

Basic Requirements/Qualifications

• Have a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience, a Master's degree with 6 years of related experience, or a PhD with 4 years of related experience. Education may be substituted with significant industry experience.
• Have a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design experience.
• Have adequate technical knowledge and communication skills to be able to translate designs to quantitative analysts and engineers.
• Ability to collaborate across all business areas including internal and external stakeholders.
