Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Head of Strategy & Growth Initiatives will be responsible for overall productivity and effectiveness of the revenue organization, partnering closely with the Chief Revenue Officer to help develop our organizations next phase of growth.  They will oversee the Business Intelligence team, and work in partnership with the Partnership Team, Sales Team and Marketing for the Suns, Mercury and Footprint Center to build strategies that drive future growth. This leader will enhance our existing sales strategies and influence cross-functional stakeholders to develop and execute a winning revenue strategy that scales as we embark on this next phase in our journey. 

The Head of Strategy and Growth Initiatives would be responsible for overall productivity and effectiveness of the organization’s growth strategies connected to partnerships, ticket sales, premium spaces, strategic growth initiatives and the overall optimization of our organization towards our growth targets and goals.  This position will partner closely with the Chief Revenue Officer and other key executives to help develop the strategy and execution plan for the next phase of growth.  A successful leader in this position will work collaboratively internally and externally with key stakeholders in all areas of the business to develop a winning and connected revenue strategy that includes our fans, our partners, our innovative solutions on our next phase to explore growth that grows our partners brands, our brand, and our overall revenue.

 

What Will You Do:

  • Drive growth strategies across all segments of Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury and Arena business; collaborating cross-functionally to ensure sales, marketing and customer experience processes for each segment are efficient, aligned and following best in class practices
  • Own and set the vision for the Growth Strategy Ops function, fostering a culture of collaboration and data-driven decision making, prioritizing an achievable roadmap for each team (Ticket Sales, Global Partnership Solutions, and Footprint Center).
  • Lead projects ranging from Revenue health and overall progress, process definition and refinement, systems implementation, data infrastructure and value-added analytics
  • Provide Revenue team strategic and operational support, including but not limited to annual and quarterly planning, forecasting, pipeline management, quota management, headcount and capacity management, compensation planning & management, account and opportunity management, lead routing, data hygiene and enrichment, customer health measurement, contract management and reporting and renewal workflows.
  • Ensure the integrity of data and data flows in revenue systems such as Microsoft Dynamics / etc. and other sales and marketing support tools and how they interact with our other systems
  • Lead and support key organizational pitches externally that represent million dollars + opportunities for revenue growth
  • Support executive sales leadership in the understanding of pipeline, forecasts, retention, and other KPIs to maximize new logo acquisition and net dollar retention for ticket sales, Global Partnerships, and Footprint Center.
  • Lead industry & marketplace due diligence to spot trends early; to evaluate group operating performance; to constantly assess areas of synergy, efficiency, cost containment, asset allocation and revenue growth; to evaluate initiatives & opportunities to expand into new business initiatives, verticals, products, platforms, and related endeavors.
  • Lead competitive landscape assessment of prevailing peer benchmarks (e.g., in terms of capability, assets, and initiatives among other considerations).

 

 

What We Need From Our Head of Growth & Strategy:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in revenue operations, sales operations and/or strategic sales roles for high growth organizations
  • Proven experience building a scalable Growth strategy for companies above driving year over year increases annual revenue
  • Strong Executive presence and ability to influence and work cross functionally
  • Ability to drive multiple complex projects at the same time to on-time completion in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to develop and communicate meaningful insights that inform how to organize and scale our revenue teams
  • Ability to solve problems with limited information and amid changing circumstances. Hypotheses driven and comfortable with ambiguity. Ability to logically break down approach and assumptions.
  • Experience developing compelling business cases and presentations. Excellent oral and written communication & presentation skills.
  • Team player, proactive, results-oriented, problem-solver, strategic thinker, highly organized, flexible, and strong analytical skills. Willingness to roll up sleeves and help as needed to advance the business.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative work style to work across multiple business teams to efficiently drive results and impact. Deadline-driven, organized, and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a team and on a standalone basis. Ability to develop a collaborative rapport with staff, partners, customers, clients, etc.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint; Google Analytics, Microsoft BI, Tableau, SQL, etc.
